Role

We are now looking to expand our commercial team with the addition of a Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or change career paths and develop within the construction industry, particularly in the fast-paced world of internal fit-outs.

Based in our modern Cambuslang office, you will work closely with our experienced Quantity Surveyors and Estimators, supporting the commercial aspects of high-quality internal fit-out projects. You’ll gain practical, on-the-job training while learning how to price works, prepare tenders, manage costs, and assist in project delivery.

Employment Type: Part Time / Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Job Description

Assisting with the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
Learning to assess drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities for pricing.
Supporting commercial team with cost control and project documentation.
Using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams as part of day-to-day tasks.
Communicating with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and technical information.

Knowledge, Experience & Requirements

Good with numbers and enjoys working with detail.
Literate and well-organised, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Eager to learn, proactive, and enthusiastic about developing a career in construction.

This role would suit a college undergraduate, or someone looking to retrain into a professional office-based role within the construction sector.
