High Bay Performance Walls, Inverness & Dundee

Introduction

We were approached by the main contractor to undertake the design, supply, and installation of Metsec High Bay walls. These walls were required to form new performance walls, which would sub-divide sections of the newly developed warehousing spaces in both Inverness and Dundee. The project involved intricate structural work, combining our expertise in high-performance wall solutions with the specific demands of the client’s modern warehouse development.

Challenges Faced

The project posed several significant challenges. Chief among these was the substantial height of the walls, which required careful planning and precision in execution. In addition, there was the added complexity of detailing and encasement works around the existing horizontal and vertical structural steel framework. These structural elements had to be seamlessly integrated into the new walls, maintaining both functionality and aesthetic consistency throughout.

Scope of Work

1. Structural Framing Systems (SFS)
   We were responsible for the supply and installation of approximately 750 square metres of Structural Framing Systems (SFS) High Bay Walls. As part of this installation, we also incorporated beam and column encasement works within each unit, ensuring the structural integrity of the framework while maintaining a high standard of finish.

Outcome

The project was successfully delivered, meeting all requirements and overcoming the challenges presented by the complexity of the work. The result is a robust, high-performance wall structure that meets the client’s specifications, contributing to the overall success of the warehousing development.
